We have been fairly quite on social media since the end of the season as not much has been going on. Now 2023 has began and the season is just around the corner. Below is an update on the few things that have been happening since the end of the season and what's to come over the next month or so..
WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING..
Foodbank Donations
During December we were raising money to support our local food bank during the Christmas period. We did this in memory of Andy King who always looked out for others and helped to raise funds for Christmas and to help those more vulnerable than ourselves. As a club, we would like to continue Andy’s fantastic work, as we know it meant a great deal to him. Huge thank you to all that donated, we managed to surpass our target & raise £575.
Opening Up
In November we hosted an Opening Up meeting at the club house. We talked about the importance of being there for each other, keeping in contact with teammates and also discussed the possibility of further talks whenever we want (monthly, during the season, whenever).
Please all remember, we’re all going through issues no matter how big or small don’t be afraid to talk if you want to.
New Practice Facility
After securing the funding in 2022 to update the net facilities from the crowdfunder campaign. You'll be delighted to hear work has commenced on the project with the trees behind the club house being felled.
As you can see we now have a huge space for the new practice facilities to go. A massive thank you goes out to Arundal Tree Surgeons for all their hard effort clearing the space.
Next up.. Once planning has been granted the tree stumps can be removed, a full survey of the land can then be conducted and the ground can then be levelled in preparation for the nets to be constructed. Exiting times ahead!

Annual Presentation Evening & Dinner
This years presentation evening & dinner will take place at Glossop Golf Club on Saturday 21st January 2023. For any ticket requirements, please contact Dave Don or Liz Lane asap please as the dinner is only 2 weeks away.
Cricket Club AGM
This years annual general meeting will take place on Wednesday 1st February at the OG pavilion. All members are encouraged to attend to elect the key roles & officers for the 2023 season.
Pre Season Nets
Senior winter nets have been booked in anticipation for the new season, they will take place on Saturday mornings 10-11am again at Total Cricket, Ashton. The first session is 18th February and will run till 8th April.
Junior winter net information should be available very soon..
Shortly we should have news on this coming seasons fixtures once realeased by the league. Hopefully an update on player transfers, plus some huge news for some of our juniors..
