U11 Update & Review

OG Mighty Ducks

Massive well done to the U11’s ducks team for winning the U11 North league and qualifying for finals day!

Going a full season unbeaten, 7 league games and 3 friendlies won and 3 games cancelled is a great achievement for the kids, their hard work in training and commitment in matches has reflected in their results.

They’re a great bunch of kids and best mates on and off the pitch, they always play the games in the right way and most importantly have fun together. They’ve had at least 5 different top scorers across the games and all chipped in with wickets and great fielding, a proper team with no stand out individuals (they are all quality 😁).

Daniel finished our top run scorer also taking wickets and some brilliant catches, Isaac top wicket taker (in the league!), Jimbo encouraging the team behind the stumps and also some vital runs and wickets. Alex L another great wicket keeper and finishing our second highest wicket taker as well. Ollie A missed a few games due to holiday (poor of parents 😂) but lots of runs when he played and some Shane Warne esq leg spin. Ollie P, 4 catches and finishing second in the runs and third for wickets great all round effort. Harry was regularly finishing top scorer by the end of the season and bowling really quick and accurately.

For the younger members of the team, Alex S was a mainstay throughout, looked after his wicket and getting some real turn and key wickets whilst bowling, including being the only wicket taker against our nearest rivals in the league. Will and Ollie W stepped in brilliantly when needed, helping out the team and their older brothers with top bowling, batting and fielding

On to finals day now! Hopefully see people on the day to give the kids support!

🏏❤️👏

OG Kings

A respectable mid table finish for The Kings this season after not playing the bottom 2 teams in the league where we could have finished 4th if we had won both.

A year of transition with lots of new young players coming into the team ablely helped with the old guard of Megan, Charlotte, Jamie and Tilly. Megan was 2nd top run scorer often facing the oppositions best bowlers, Charlotte 3rd top run scorer again batting against the best bowlers and taking the most wickets (including the prized possession of getting her brother out twice in the same game).

Jamie wicketkept very well throughout the season whilst also being the 2nd highest wicket taker and Tilly having the 2nd best bowling economy rate going for the least amount of runs per over.

The new youngsters to the team really shone with Eric ending up the season with the most runs, Ava returning the best game figures of 3 for 4 (against the league winners OG Mighty Ducks), Joseph constantly bowling brilliantly against the oppositions best batters and having the best batting average in the team, Cameron being a solid defensive batter only losing his wicket once all season along with taking his first wicketkeeper catch, Phoebe who took a great 2/5 and again looked after her wicket throughout the season and who could forget Anna’s first game where she bowled 2 overs, both maidens and taking her first ever wicket ❤️

I can’t forget Will and Alex who came in from the Ducks to help when we were struggling for players.
