With the 2024 season approaching fast, we can now update you on all our winter transfer activity!
Callan Kean - Overseas Amateur
Callan is joining us this summer as our overseas amateur. Callan (19) is a highly impressive, up and coming batsman from Sydney, Australia.
He is a fluent left handed top order batsman currently playing for the famous Penrith Cricket Club in the NSW Premier Cricket.
He will be a fantastic addition to our squad and no doubt will continue to help us progress on and off the field. I'm sure everyone will give him a warm welcome when he arrives on the 10th April.
Jamie Kay
After persuing Jamie for a couple of years, we are delighted he has agreed to join us for the 2024 season!
A quality bowling allrounder, who's left arm spin has continually seen him as a leading wicket taker in the Derbyshire & Cheshire league for well over a decade now!
A huge signing!! Jamie will not only bring us quality with bat & ball, he will also provide us with great experience & a winning mentality, having just won back to back doubles at Woodley!
We are all very excited to see JK playing at OG this season!
Chris Joy
Chris returns to us in 2024 after a couple of seasons away at Newton CC in 2022 & 2023.
A tall, powerful left hand batsman, who in his last season at OG racked up an impressing 479 runs in all comps! In his time at Newton Chris has also been developing his skills as a wicket keeper.
We are thrilled to have Chris back for the coming season & hope he can pick up where he left off in 2021!
Akhil Kalavagunta
Akhil came on our radar in 2023 whilst playing against us in a T20 friendly! He excelled in the match with 50 runs & 3 wickets!
A very impressive allrounder, who we have witnessed first hand can be a hard hitting & destructive batsman! Akhil is also a very impressive spin bowler.
Akhil will no doubt be a brilliant addition at OG & we are excitied to see him performing in an OG shirt this summer!
Kuz Solanki
Kuz joins us in 2024, a self anointed ‘all rounder’ but by his own admission has had his best moments whilst fielding & bowling!
Having last played in a competitive work league in London a few years back (LMS). Previous to that he played for the University of Greenwich & Countesthorpe CC in Leicestershire from u11s all the way up to adults.
We look forward to seeing Kuz back playing cricket this summer & we can all judge his all rounder status 😂
Andrew Southworth
Andrew is also resuming playing duties this year, 25 years after last stepping off a cricket field! Where he played mainly 2s for Enfield in the Lancashire League.
A leg spin bowler & elegant middle order batsman, Andrew also helps coach our OG juniors.
We look forward to seeing Andrew back in action this season!
Jonny Ritson
After a blistering career playing U18s in North Cumbria & some guest appearances in village cricket at Lanercost, Jonny took a well deserved 20 year retirement.
After more injuries than he knows what to do with, Jonny is coming out of retirement as a batsmen in an attempt to beat his 28* record
We welcome Jonny to the club and look forward to seeing him returning to action this summer.
