Find out what fantastic events we hold at Old Glossop cricket club!
BIG SUMMER BASH
The club held a Big Summer Bash to round off the summer holidays with a day of fun for all the family. Run in association with Paul Hardy, Councillor for Old Glossop and former Mayor of the High Peak, the event is now in its second year. The day was held to raise funds for Bradbury House Community Centre in Glossop and, further to their recent crowdfunding campaign, for new practice facilities at Old Glossop Cricket Club.

The weather was thankfully kind, despite a gloomy forecast, and the rain stayed away so everyone enjoyed a warm, sunny, and relaxed afternoon at the club on Manor Park Road. Many local organisations were in attendance; the Glossop fire brigade brought a fire engine, Glossop Mountain Rescue Team had their rescue vehicle, Glossop Heritage Trust displayed their latest range of merchandise, and Glossop Cat Rescue had a stall. Alongside this was a wide selection of craft and food and drinks outlets. There was plenty to keep the kids occupied with a large bouncy castle, a face painter and an ice cream van.

There was also live music from Glossop Old Band and local bands Taxi for John and Suede Apple, who kept the crowds entertained throughout the day. A round-robin sponsors six-a-side cricket tournament ran alongside all day. The matches were good natured but hard fought, with the team from Arundel Tree Surgeons being crowned the overall winners of the competition.
CINEMA NIGHT
The very popular outdoor cinema night came to the club where we premiered The Greatest Showman. The night was a great success, with kids and adults alike enjoying a fun filled evening!
Alongside the film, refreshments were on offer from Tintwistle Smokehouse & Wood fired Pizzas, as well as hot drinks from Bee's Coffee Pot & alcoholic/non alcoholic beverages from our own bar. The night was such a success it's sure to become a must have in our annual event calendar.
